Smart Card Configuration

As part of the configuration process requires data from the badge database, a database must be already open.  Each configuration is associated with a specific badge database.  Once a database is open, switch to Supervisor or Master mode and then select the Configuration menu option.  There you will find an option entitled Set Smart Card Encoding. Select this option and the following dialog will appear:

Select your model of printer and smart card type from the drop down menu and then click the Configure Smart Card Encoder button. 

Some printers may have additional settings.   For example, the Ultra Magicard printers allow a Position Adjustment which makes the printer position the card towards the rear of the printer for higher numbers.  The default is 22.  The units are in millimeters. This parameter can be used to ensure that the card is correctly positioned over the Mifare^® reader/writer inside the printer. If cards are not detected reliably during the Mifare^® encoding process, adjust this value for optimal card detection.
