Printing A Badge

The ID badge software can print either the current badge or all the badges currently selected.  For this Guided Tour we will print a single badge only.  For more information on multi-badge printing see Badge Printing in the Operations chapter.

Before starting the steps to print a badge, use the tool bar arrow buttons, Fast Find or Select buttons to select the badge you wish to print.  Also make sure that your printer is connected, turned on and ready to receive information.  These are the steps to print the selected badge:

1.  Click on the tool bar Print  button

2.  A dialog appears with several tabs across the top. Click the Layout tab and then place the cursor in the Left Margin entry box.  The value currently in the box is the minimum size for the Left Margin.  We will print the badge Ѕ”(12.7mm) from the left edge of the paper, so enter 0.50(12.7).  [Note: Your printer may not be able to print the badge this close to the edge.  If the ID badge software gives an error at this point, reduce the number entered to the minimum suggested when you click on Page Info. This could happen if you have a plastic card stock printer which prints one badge centered in the stock.]

3.  Similarly change the value in the Top Margin box to 0.50(12.7)

4.  Select the General tab

5.  In the Badge Selection area make sure that Current is selected.  If not, click the appropriate radio button

6.  Click on the Print button

A pop-up window will display the progress of the print operation and the selected badge will be sent to the printer.
