Database

When this tab is selected the contents of the dialog change to:

Note: this dialog is not available in all versions.

The Database Log In portion of the dialog allows an appropriate username and password to be sent to the database when it is opened. Entering this information will prevent the database’s own login dialog from appearing each time the database is opened. The User Name, Password and Server Name fields should be left blank if you desire the database login dialog to appear each time the database is opened, or if your database does not require/support logging in.  A badge database must be open to complete these fields.

Normally, Server Mode does not allow any data to be changed, assuming that the data will be changed by the calling application.  By checking the Allow changes to current record box, changes can be made to the current record within the ID Badge program, when in Server Mode.

When a mirror database is created it is normally read-only, meaning that changes to it cannot be made.  If you check the Enable Synchronization box then the mirror database will permit limited changes, such as changing badge data, or the photograph or signature.  Then, when the main database is accessed again, you will have the opportunity to upload those changes and synchronize the main database.  This box is only available when all the following conditions are satisfied:

·      The main database is open

·      You are logged in Supervisor Mode or above

·      The Mirror to Main Database Synchronization feature has been enabled in your dongle

·      The database was not created by attaching to a foreign database table

For more information on this topic see mirror databases.
