Changing, Adding and Deleting Field Name Aliases

When a database is created, field names can optionally have aliases assigned to them.  It is sometimes desirable to change add or delete these aliases.  The tab item Aliases allows this to be done.  When selected, a dialog like this will appear:

The Field Name pull-down box displays all the real field names present in the database.  Once selected, the associated Alias for the field is shown in the box below.  This name can then be edited or deleted as required.  To quickly delete the alias, click on the Delete this Alias button.  All aliases can be deleted by clicking on the Delete all Aliases button.

The changes made in this dialog are not applied to the database until the Save button is pressed.  If the changes made are to be abandoned, press the Cancel button.

An alias can contain any text desired, up to 30 characters long.  However the first character cannot be a space and all aliases must be unique.
